Working Together for Success

Plan Ahead's curriculum came to life through the collective vision of four partners determined to ensure that all students graduate high school with the skills to make informed decisions about their future.

Underwritten and supported by Gap Inc., developed by The Pearson Foundation, managed by Hirsh & Associates, and crafted with input from key SFUSD officials, Plan Ahead will be taught to SFUSD 9th graders starting in fall 2010. Plan Ahead is now a required course for high school graduation in San Francisco and has the potential to reach students all across the country. With Plan Ahead, every student has the chance to make success a first choice.

IN MEMORY OF DON FISHER
Don Fisher, Gap Inc.’s co-founder, took a single store in San Francisco and grew it into a global retail corporation. Don believed that every young person regardless of circumstances should be prepared to succeed in college and a career. Through this passion and vision, he planted the seed for Plan Ahead. Don passed away in September 2009. One of the ways his spirit lives on is through Plan Ahead and the students who participate.
